POKOTABI / Inaho
稲穂
Discover Inaho, a relaxed kissaten in Kita Ward's Toshima district serving morning toast, daily bento lunches, various spaghettis, and traditional cafe sweets.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A quiet kissaten with hot toast and freshly brewed coffee offers a welcome pause in the day. At Inaho in Toshima, Kita Ward, mornings begin leisurely with sets that pair toasted bread with a boiled egg, a side salad, and a beverage. The coffee selection accommodates varied preferences, spanning house blend and American-style roasts alongside a robust strong coffee, Viennese coffee topped with cream, and cafe au lait.
When midday arrives, the menu shifts to heartier fare. A daily bento lunch set comes with miso soup, a salad, and an after-meal drink, while rice options include keema curry, chicken curry, and beef curry. The kitchen also prepares a versatile assortment of light meals, ranging from spaghetti varieties such as tarako (salted pollock roe), meat sauce, basilico, and peperoncino to comforting plates of hayashi rice and delicate crab zosui (rice porridge).
For an afternoon break or an after-lunch treat, classic Japanese kissaten refreshments include melon cream sodas and lemon squashes. Traditional confectionery is also on hand, featuring mitsumame, cream anmitsu, and warm zenzai red bean soup. The peaceful setting welcomes solo visitors without fuss, making it an easy stop between local errands or during a walk through the neighbourhood. Please note that payment is cash only.
